I was assuming we would turn this into a cafe league. Slow draft on here and enter the teams midseason Yahoo or something. Again this is just kind of ideas off the wall, so anyone with input is more than welcome.
ive been wanting to start up a new keeper as the one im in now is rather boring. people are terrified of trading, except when they get taken advantage of by the guy in 1st. if youre serious about creating one keep me posted
Having just read this entire thread, I would definitely like to take part in creating a new keeper league.
To the original question, I would say Hanley Ramirez is an excellent cornerstone to any keeper roster. For pitching, I think a guy like Lincecum is a great option.
Midseason keeper is great because you have to struggle with deciding on injuries, upstarts, slow starts, fast starts, and how to weigh and balance all of that to win this half season and of course in the future. First we need to get our participants locked in and then we can submit to become a cafe league. Then we can get to work on all our rules so we can be ready to go by midseason at the latest. Should we just accept the first.....12 people? Or should we perhaps take applications of a sort and make sure we give people a fair shot to join but only take those truly interested? Im mostly asking this of these people:
I would say krunk but he seems undecided. if you want in just cut and paste the list with your name added to the end until we have 12. if we had at least 1 mod in the league that would help.....but its not necessary. Please only put the name in if you are serious though.
If you guys start a midseason keeper, i'd be game.
I've been in a fairly competitive keeper league for about 5 years now, and i think guys take the "keeper" aspect a little bit too far. I agree that if there is a younger "stud" who i have ranked around the same as an older "stud", i'll lean towards the younger guy, but some owners just take it too far. At my draft, i actually overheard someone say that he couldn't see drafting AROD in the top 10 becuase he was getting older.
