Anyone know what is was about?
Youkilis called Manny out for not getting involved in the fight. Youkilis should worry about himself and his involvement and not call his own guys out, especially not during the game. What an idiot

I just heard on the local Boston news that it had nothing to do with the brawl. That it was Manny who said something to Youkilis about acting like a little biatch after his at bats (throwing his helmet, punching things, etc.) when he strikes out or doesn't get the results that he wanted even when they're winning the game. The news station said that ESPN deportes reported this, and also that some of the other Boston players felt the same way about Youk when he freaks out.
I could certainly see how Youk would get on teammate's nerves. He's so intense all of the time, he seems to still play with a constant chip on his shoulder. It's good to have players on your club who are like that (Pedroia is another), just not someone I would be too fond to hang around with for 162 games plus travel.

Don't state your opinion as fact..there is no proof this was the case..

Heard this on WEEI as well. It seems like Manny and Youkilis take opposite approaches to the game. I have to say that the comparison between Youkilis and Pedroia's a little off, though. They both play hard, but Dustin seems to have a much more mature head on his shoulders. Even as a transplanted Yankee fan living in New England, I really appreciate the way Pedroia goes about his business. Youkilis, not so much...

good assessment here. as a lifelong sox fan, i always said the same thing about jeter. didn't like when he was beating us, but i always respected how he played the game and led by example, without being a "yell in your face, rah-rah" kinda leader. i think pedroia is cut from that same cloth. though a bit more outwardly emotional than jeter, he's nowhere near the volcano that youk is. youk seems like the kinda guy who thinks that if you don't yell and scream and slam your bat, you're not "into the game." he and paul o'neill should grab a beer sometime and then smash the mugs against each other's heads.
