and in Detroit we all love to hate the Lions
pretty sick of the current Pistons team too, and i'm casually indifferent about the Wings (recent change from my blatant hatred for them from 98-07)
also looking forward to hating the new Rich Rod led Michigan football team in the fall
I feel the exact same way about all 5 teams you mentioned. I've got a 27 game package so I go to quite a few Tiger games, and I never played hockey so I don't care to much about the wings.
Most fans of other teams get angry and hate their team when they're doing badly/being managed poorly. Cubs fans are different. When the Cubs stink it up, we don't get angry. We just sit around and mope all day, bemoaning curses and jinxes and the like. The sad thing is, the jinx/curse talk hides the real problems.
Rocinante2: you know Rocinante2: its easy to dismiss the orioles as a bad team ofanrex: go on Rocinante2: i'm done Rocinante2: lmao

Basically it's the team I saw the most of in 2004 because their games were usually shown: 1. On a day I wasn't working. 2. Not played at 5am.
Lima Time and Tru Beltre smashing the ball everywhere were entertaining, and learning about DePo/moneyball clinched it. Then I was lucky enough to have seen the division winning grand slam live on tv (because it satisfied criterias 1 and 2).

Hate my favorite team? Not a chance. I rooted for my team through 11 years of absolute crappiness. That is not saying though, that I didn't disagree with lots of choices we made in the past, but I never actually hated the team, just some of the parts(like the ownership). So I am definitely enjoying this year so far. Lets go Rays.
