Rough outing again today. Only 2 ER, but 4 BBs and 105 pitches for 5 innings of work. Typical adjustment period I would guess, but he'll need to string a couple of strong starts together to keep his spot.

according to rotowold his max inng limit is at 170 and since he already pitched 58 inngs theres 112 inngs left. if u do some math w/ 4 starts in june left, 4 starts in july b/c of allstar game so teams reset rotation, 5 starts in august and 5 starts in september thats 18 starts left divide that by 112 inngs assuming he doesnt get skipped anywhere in the future for extra rest thats about more than 6 inngs a start. Kershaw can defitenly be effective in the h2h playoffs IMO... however w/ jason schimdt coming back soon does any1 think his spot is endargered???

After originally saying that Clayton Kershaw would be skipped whenever the Dodgers didn't need a fifth starter, manager Joe Torre has backed off the statement.
As a result, he'll make his normal start on Tuesday with the other four starters getting an extra day of rest. Kershaw is on a 170-inning limit this season, and currently sits at 58

I dont think Schmidt is too much a threat. I was actually hoping that Kershaw got skipped once or twice before ASB just to keep him fresh. Maybe bullpen time ala Scherzer

I dropped him and I dont feel the least bit bad about....he will probably clear the WW so if I want him back ill just grab him

good idea to re-grab this guy - he has no history of control problems so after he settles down it will be strikeout city!

Actually, Kershaw's walk rate per 9 was a bit high in the minors, but a great deal of scouts and those in the Dodger organization are hopeful that as he matures, so will his control and understandably so. Kershaw has a good approach to the plate, given the relatively high quality of his pitches, but is still learning to master them. When he finally does, he'll be every bit as good as advertised.

For me it's come down to Scherzer or Kershaw...and I like Scherzer better for this year anyway, since he's a couple years older and more mature on the mound. Anyone beg to differ on this case?
