Whats the latest with him? Wil he make it back when he is expected to come off the DL or will he have to take a few more days off? With Ortiz hurt, I really need him back.

Jun 8 Colorado Rockies IF Clint Barmes (knee) is taking part in baseball activities such as fielding and batting practice, but there is no timetable for his return, according to the Associated Press.

In other words, who knows? It's actually looking like Tulo will be back first.

The big question is will he even be worth using?

Still no timetable but here is a somewhat encouraging update:

Clint Barmes (sprained right knee) will run the bases for the first time Tuesday and work on turning the double play and throwing on the run while ranging to his left. He's scheduled to travel with the Rockies to Chicago, where the Rockies play the White Sox this weekend, and after working out there, he could begin a rehabilitation assignment. Barmes, who was injured May 23, said he feels no pain but has some sensitivity in his knee when making a cross-over move and taking left turns running the bases.

I'm a bit frustrated with Barmes situation... I need him to get some hits tonight. I'm not sure if it's that Hurdle lost confidence in him or maybe shopping Baker so giving him more playing time... If its a platoon situation then it seems I'm screwed as my best option in FA is Jamey Carol. I guess it was bad luck that when he returned to the Rockies they were on the road all week. Then Hurdle decided to bench him the first 3 days while at home and Barmes is much better at home.

Any news or thoughts on Barmes will be helpful.
