Albert Pujols: A strained left calf is the culprit this time, as he injured it while running the bases in the first inning of Tuesday’s game. Right now, consider it a day-to-day injury. He may be able to play before the weekend series in Houston, though the Cardinals can ill-afford to risk further injury to their star, especially with the recent knee infection that has sidelined Rick Ankiel , who will probably miss another game or two.
