He'd hit for a great AVG too if it wasn't for Petco

Home - .255

Away - .336

He has an OPS of 1.021 away from Petco.

To have 54 RBI in that crappy lineup is unbelievable. He's on pace for around 45 HR, I think he finishes with 40.

The positive of Gonzo's high RBI total is that nearly half have come at home (26 out of 54.) Compared to last season he had 36 rbis at home over the ENTIRE season. (out of 100 total) His power numbers are also trending the same way. (7hrs at home vs 10 all of last season)
All we can hope is pitchers don't decide to start pitching around him.

Good point. If Headley's arrival is anything in the same atmosphere as Jay Bruce, could that be the protection AGon needs?

Who are we grouping him with now, for the rest of the year? Are we talking Pujols, Prince, Howard, or like a Lee, Youk, Tex, or Morneau type of guy?

Come on... Pujols, Prince and Howard? Craziness.

My friend laughed at me when I picked Agon sort of late in our draft, he tried to argue the whole PETCO effect...lies.

I was just throwing some names out there and seeing who we can group him with. Obviously not them, but if you had to throw him in a group of 1B, who would you put him with?

I think Lee and Tex are a good comparison. He's not quite at that 1st tier level, but if he cranks out 40+ this season he'll be a tweener for the 1st and 2nd tier.

I think he is close to, possibly better than Tex. I know Tex has the name, but one guy in one of my leagues was trying to get gonz and verlander from me for Tex. And if you look at it, how much better is Tex going to be, if at all? I mean Tex has "done it before" but I'm not sold they aren't the same player basically with park factors in career being reversed.

I think Gonzalez will pass Tex if he hits 40 homeruns considering he probably could hit more if he didn't play for San Diego.

Agreed. I still like Teix a little more but Agon has a chance to pass him this year. Teix also tends to heat up in the second half.
