ADRIAN GONZALEZ?! Where is the cafe, groupie LOVE?!
Tonight he hit his 17th HR and has 54RBI's on top of it, but I rarely see anyone praising the guy let alone making threads in his honor. Is this his extreme breakout year or will he cool down quite a bit after a 10HR May? Either way he's got the same amount of HR's and more RBI's then Lance Berkman, yet you'd think he played Single A ball with the recognition he's gotten so far. But maybe San Diego is close enough for most MLB fans?
I think he will continue on a very similar pace personally. I think his home splits are bound to pick up a little bit, and he will probably slow down on the road just a tad. He is ripping the cover off the ball, and while I see him finishing with around 120 RBI and not 145-150, he is in for a very good finish to a breakout 2008 IMO
Yeah, I noticed he's very quietly putting up some big numbers so far. I definitely think playing in SD has a lot to do with the fact that he hasn't gotten too much press yet. Loving it so far and I don't see any reason he won't be able to keep it up. He''ll be on more than a few league-winning fantasy teams I'm sure. Also it's nice to see someone hit well in PETCO.

The scary thing is is that he has been a better second half hitter each of the last 3 years....definately keep ahold of him if you have him and you might check around to see if someone will try to "sell high" on him. Don't go nuts and overpay but he should continue on fairly close to what he is doing now. I do expect to see the HR and RBI to come down though....that offense isn't very good so those RBI's may start to dry up and that home park is killer so he might fall short of 40hr, though 40 is definately attainable, obviously.
Do keep in mind that this guy was a very highly touted prospect(1st overall pick in '00)....he's just one of the ones that didn't hit the ground running. No reason why he can't be a top 5 1B for a few years!
I picked him in my most important league this year, and some people snickered. now I don't say that to make it seem like I know it all, as I don't. But, I expected some things out of him, and boy is it pretty sweet. Actually, I got ribbed for both he and chipper this year. Well, let's just say I am pleased.
If he is doing this in a division where he plays in a pitcher's park and has a division opponent that plays in one, it makes me wonder what he would do in a bandbox.
So pissed because he was one of my main targets this season. In my keeper league I had a choice between Agon, Zimmerman and Chipper. So naturally I went with the youngest one.
