I feared the worst yesterday, although I didn't think it would be possible, Ortiz may be out for the rest of the season. I am currently in 1st place and my offense has really put me there. Ortiz is not the sole reason because he did struggle the 1st month. Barmes should come off of the DL next week so I will put him as my DH. Could he be enough of a stopgate until Papi comes back, if he eventually comes back. Holliday and Hawpe will be coming back and that should help his offensive production a little. I am not expecting him to put up Big Papi numbers I am just hoping if there is a chance Papi comes back he can help stop the bleeding. I have a pretty comfortable lead in most of the offensive categories, so I am praying for the best.
A loss of one player, even a first round pick shouldn't cost you a league. Especially since the red sox are hopeful he will be back in one month.

He was my 2nd round pick in a 14 team league. I got Utley also. The guy in 2nd has Hafner on the DL and really has an average offense after A-rod. The team in 3rd has no pitching because of Fausto on the DL . he had Chris Young but has since dropped him and I picked him up to sure up my very deep staff. I am just worried Big Papi may not return at all. If he does I think I still have a chance. I just may have to pick up some free agents that may be on some hot streaks. Mix and Match until Papi returns.

You left out Kazmir. He's been pretty awesome since he came back though.

Yeah I'm screwed in my 20 team league, I missed the draft so I had to play catchup the entire season up to this point and went from last to 14th, but right now it doesn't look promising.
