The idea of pitcher masks may actually come to pass one day in the future. A 100 years ago they probably thought the idea batting helmets was crazy and laughable. There is already a movement afoot to make masks mandatory for third baseman and pitchers in softball.

Actually it was as little as 50-60 years ago that batting helmets were first implemented, and even then not everyone wore them because they thought it was silly.

Nah, two weeks at most before a concussion's nothing but a minor headache when you over exert yourself. Broken faces heal pretty quickly since you rarely put stress on the face bones.
Maybe he could wear one of those plastic face mask like they do in the NBA.
