I run a H2H league where we use a 4 start minimum per scoring period (week). If you fail to have at least 4 games started then you lose pitching catagories for that week.
Now...I had an owner email me 2 days after Sonanstines start saying he unintentionally benched him. The owner wanted me to backdate the roster since he benched him by mistake. Sonanstine happened to throw a gem that day and would have been the owners 4th start.
I decided that it would not be fair, or set a good precedence to backdate his roster to count the start....which also made him not meet the 4 start rule...so he lost pitching stats for that week(scoring period). The owner obviously isnt happy and claims that since he let me know after the fact that the rule shouldnt appy.
Was I wrong to enforce this rule?
BTW: enforcing the rule also gave my main competitor an extra 3 games lead on me.
Thanks for the help...I feel that if I dont enforce this rule now, how can I enforce it or any other down the road...being a commish is a pain in the a$$ sometimes!
