Is this team any good?

Payton might be platooning..Yan has to go..Texas has three closers that are better than him, unless there is a bullpen fire and Yan is in the can, he won't see a save opp all year. Pick up anybody for him. Jay Gibbons has shown promising power his first two years in the bigs..great ab/hr ration. I'd hang onto Cedeno to see if he's returned to form. Try using Nomar and another player to grab a good SS (Hernandez in Colorado, etc) and a power outfielder. Including Nomar in a trade shoud get some attention..
If you can put Hoffman on the DL..and pick up one of the prospects (Thurston on L.A. or Hafner on Cleveland) Thurstons a fast 2Bman who hits for avg..and Hafner is a banger at first base...

To compete you need to consider trading Pedro and/or Nomar for the good of the team..Both of them should fetch you two quality players..

Trade Nomar and Lidle for a guy like Aaron Boone (who can play SS in the Yahoo leagues) or Hernandez-COL and a closer. Get rid of Yan to some unsuspecting owner or, heck, drop him.

Your team is decent but I would really suggest picking up a more solid third outfielder and fifth starter. I think there are much better players out there over Sanders and Groom

Good pitching, but you are lacking in power.
