No way. I think he'll do what Maggs did last season average wise. Even if he did hit .400 he'd probably miss 30 games in the process and you'd have to take that average with a grain of salt.
I think he could threaten to. Consider that Tex is starting to heat up so pitchers will be more inclined to throw strikes.
One this is for sure, Selig is sure hoping he can. He badly needs players to start producing and take some more light off the Selig era...make that Steriod era.

You know, if 100 games pass ,and he's just barely hitting 400 and the Braves aren't in contention, maybe they'll DL him to keep his BA and still have him eligible for a batting title. He's getting up there, and a BA title could help secure a place in the HoF.

This would never happen. The Braves and Jones would be ridiculed from sea to shining sea, and rightfully so. Anyway, it won't be a problem; the odds of a .310 career hitter batting .400 for even 3/4 of a season are astronomical.
