Could Chipper Jones Hit .400?

It's now June and Chipper's at .413. At what point do we start to think he's got a legitimate shot at .400? All-Star Break? August 1?

He'd have to be hitting over .400 with 2 weeks to go before I would think he had a serious chance.

id say he has a good chance to get injured and miss several weeks. but will he hit .400 this season? i seriously doubt it

i think you'd have to start giving him a serious shot around september 1 and not june 1.

If he was a hitter with a historically very high batting average -- a Gwynn or Carew, say -- it's fun to speculate around the All Star break. For everyone else though, including Jones -- no, it's not gonna happen. If he's still over .400 in September, we'll talk about it then.
