Please tell me Ortiz is not going on the DL.

CBS says that he tweaked his wrist swinging at a 3-2 pitch. Anyone have any insight?

He fouled off a pitch and then immediately shook his hand afterward. The trainers and Francona came over and he looked like it was bothering him, so they took him out of the game in the middle of his at bat. He left with a 3-2 count...
I haven't heard anything else yet, I'm not sure if he'll end up on the DL, but it's not out of the question.

This is Rotoworld's take... not too much new info. though.

David Ortiz left Saturday's game in the ninth inning with an apparent left hand injury.
Ortiz felt something in the hand while taking a swing and fouling off a pitch. Sean Casey replaced him in the contest. If Ortiz is DL bound, the Red Sox would likely mix and match, but Coco Crisp would stand to benefit most, with Casey also in line for more at-bats.

I just read an article from the Seattle times that says hes Day to Day with a sparained Wrist. Luckily for Ortiz Owners Xrays were negative. He will surely be our resting on Sunday and maybe even another game or so thereafter. But Papi listed as day to day is GREAT news!

Yea I just read that also. He will sit tomorrow for sure. I would rather him sit out a few games rather than injure it worse and lose him for an extended period of time. Lets just hope they don't come back and say he has to go on the DL.

Yahoo:
Ortiz left Saturday night's game against the Baltimore Orioles in the ninth inning after injuring his left hand. Ortiz, who was 2-for-3 with his 13th home run, a sacrifice fly and two RBIs, apparently sustained the injury while fouling off a 3-1 Dennis Sarfate pitch. He left the game before finishing his at-bat.

Advice: X-rays were negative and Ortiz is listed as day to day, though Ortiz said after Boston's 6-3 victory that he doubted he would play Sunday. "I feel that pop right away when I swung. ... I think I maybe sprained something right there and it's a little sore. Hopefully, it'll go away soon," Ortiz said.

he was reportedly seen wearing an ice pack on his wrist today and will get an mri tommorow or tuesday... so I don't think he'll be playing the next few games... I'm very concerned with the "pop" he felt... never a good thing when muscles are involved... the mri, not x-rays, will be the key test so cross your fingers :-o
For every Brett Myers there's a Nate McLouth...
