I simply don't get why managers are so obsessed with lefty/righty matchups. Yesterday in the Orioles game, Jamie Walker threw some great pitches and got Ortiz out easily. Then, with Manny coming up, he brings in Bradford who has been bad all year. Even though Bradford is a righty against Manny who is a righty, Manny is 8/15 lifetime against him! If you don't think that Walker can get him out, that's fine, bring in someone else, but don't bring in the guy that's PROVEN he can't get Manny out. In some circumstances, bringing in the righty to face the righty is fine, but you have to look at numbers at some point.

Dusty Baker does this dumb lefty / righty crap in his lineup. He bats Votto all the way down to 7th which is crazy considering that he hits lefties well...

Trembley has been overplaying the matchup game all season. He loves that Walker/Bradford pairing, when Johnson/Albers/Cormier have actually been better. One can only hope he is trying to showcase Walker and Bradford for the trade market.

Why in gods name he didnt let Johnson come back out in the 9th I have no idea, he had like a 10 pitch 8th.

ill be at the one tonight. i wont mind if he does some similar moves. but mostly im hoping that manny hits 500 tonight
