What's going on with Harang?

2 starts with 2 ER, yet he takes the loss
2 starts with 1 ER and one with 2 ER, yet gets a no-decision
8 QS out of 12 total

Plus there's the Dusty Baker factor. Who in their right mind plays their ace 3 times in a week?

If an ace isn't willing to do that (or whatever) when the team needs it then he's not an ace in my book. Really Harang's ERA from the last 2 season's and this one don't exactly put him in the category i'd consider a true ace.

But that's the thing, did his team need it? Are the Reds in a close pennant race with 10-15 games left in the season? No, they're not, it's freakin' May! And his ERA may not have been especially shining the last few years, but a 1.14 WHIP last year (and low career walk rates), 218 K's, and a 16-win season makes up for it. He's a solid, if not spectacular contributor in 4 of 5 pitching categories. Even if he's not a true fantasy ace (which I concede he is not) he's the Reds' ace, and that's why Dusty should take care of him.

Actually just traded FOR harang in a deep 16 team league. Traded CJ Wilson and Justin Upton...
I feel like Harang is going to turn it on in the 2nd half, and if so, he'll be a major contributor in Ks and not destroy ERA and WHIP

Well, I wouldn't be stupid enough to just drop him onto the WW... I'd most likely try and trade him with another player for strength elsewhere. But yeah, dropping aces is not in my normal operating procedure.
