Pretty amazing the transition he went through from early in his career in terms of his control. Not sure what happened after 1992, but he went from a fairly wild power pitcher with the BB/9 rate well over 5 to becoming a power pitcher with control second only to Pedro (although still a distant 2nd).

Compared to Randy, Cole Hamels is a little girl.
Randy is the pitcher you can't kill.
No cartilidge in his knees? He laughs at that.
Herniated discs? No problems, he'll just pitch a play off game with them.

Yeah it's like 2 different guys. Maybe Seattle had a change of pitching coach.
152 walks in 1991 and he still had a job? 8-o
