That makes sense...unfortunately. It stinks seeing their #2 guy in HR and RBI's losing run producing opporunities at the bottom of the order, though...

i definitely think starting out Bruce in the 2 slot is a strange move. Bruce, like Votto is a lefty. Both have speed. I'd just think it would make more sense to have Bruce start out in the 7 hole since he's raw and Votto has proven himself already.

Bruce is faster, better hitter, and they've talked about him being at the top since ST. While Votto isn't too slow, he isn't what you'd want at the top of the order.

It's just a shame for us Votto owners. His value is going to waste away in that 7 spot. Encarnacion in front of him, then the catcher and pitcher to follow. Who's going to pitch to him with men on base?
