Tulo . . . remember him?

Postby baseballboy » Thu May 29, 2008 1:17 pm

Found these updates and paraphrased from the Denver Post & USA Today:

Troy Tulowitzki continues to make steady progress with his torn left quadriceps tendon. He is taking batting practice and slow groundballs. Tulo can't put a timetable on his return until he does short bursts in the field and on the bases. He jumped into the cage on several occasions, keeping a low profile taking BP with the pitchers, alternating turns with Ubaldo Jimenez, Josh Newman and Greg Reynolds. As the Rockies regulars made their way onto the field, they stopped and gawked at Tulowitzki's powerful swings. "Who's that?" Matt Holliday joked. Tulowitzki just grinned and went about his business of crushing the baseball. The last week of June looks reasonable if there are no setbacks.

From Rocky Mountain News:

Shortstop Troy Tulowitzki (torn left quadriceps tendon) took 60 groundballs at Coors Field and made backhanded throws, some from the hole.

June 5th from Rotoworld:

Troy Tulowitzki is expected to begin a rehab assignment within the next week.
He'll undergo a few more days of drills at Coors field to test the strength in his torn left quadriceps, but says "it's getting really close if there are no setbacks."
