What do you think are the chances that this kid gets called up this year?? The way people are talking about how mature he is and how good his command already is, it seems like he could get the call up at some point this year. What are your thoughts on him?
Stud. IMO, he'll be better than Kershaw this year if he just gets the chance. His #'s in college were just ridiculous posting 190+ K's in around 130 innings... And, as you alluded too, his control is awesome.
No, I dont think so. We all know how the Rays are with their pitchers, and Price is no exception, there have been a couple threads on this already and my answer remains the same.
Why call up a guy who is behind a few other studs who just got drafted who still needs experience at the AAA level?
And to top it all off he has had some injury problems so why rush him?

Id have to agree that Price > Kershaw. However for this year Kershaw is the safer bet for redraft leagues.

He is certainly more polished but I don't know if he will be better than Kershaw.

It is possible we see him in September, but I would count on 2009. I think he will be given the chance to win a job out of spring training next year if he pitches well the remaining of this year. Of course, if he goes lights out for the next 2 months and his innings are still in line, anything is possible for this year if the Rays are still in the playoff hunt.

Better hope you don't call him up as a reliever in September or then you will have people calling for him to stay in the bullpen forever.
Price was having elbow problems earlier in the year is that all fixed? I kind of wrote him off for this year after reading he had elbow problems. I would guess the Rays are real careful with this kid. But if they are in the playoff hunt all bets are off. If in the hunt you mat see Price if not then 2009, I would think.
