Evan Longoria @ SS?

Jun 16 Rays.MLB.com's Bill Chastain reports Tampa Bay Rays 3B Evan Longoria will make a start at shortstop in the near future when SS Jason Bartlett gets a day off.

That would be sweeeeet if he could get SS eligibility.

Yeah, but it won't help much in roto leagues. The idea was first bruited about more than half a month ago, and he's only now, say in the next week, going to play his first game there. At that rate, it'll be September before he becomes eligible. Could be useful for the playoffs in h2h leagues, at least.

If he got ss eligibility, my first thought would be to trade him to someone with a weak ss (as I already have Tejada there). But if it's after the deadline, it won't do me much good. Hope Bartlett starts feeling really tired...

It will be really interesting when Aki is out for his 3 game suspension. Do they put Bartlett at 2B and Evan SS for those 3? With Aki out and no Zobrist that leaves Hinske (1B and 3B) and Aybar (1B, 3B) as options other than Evan and Jason. They could move BJ back for the 3 games, but I doubt it because they have said over and over they want to leave him in CF

The simplest way to go would to be to just leave everyone where they are and just have Aybar play 2nd for a few games.
