Your thoughts on this trade

Jake Peavy for Ryan Ludwick.I'm leaning towards a veto here.I know Ludwick is hot right now,but is he for real.On the other hand will Peavy return to normal.Your thoughts? :-?

Private league? Public? How well do you know/trust the guys in the trade?

Does that mean it's gone through or been vetoed, or that you think it's irrelevant if it's a private league?

It's quite relevant. If you know these two owners, and you don't believe they are cheating, than it's a fair trade. Peavy is hurt, and Ludwick is on fire. You can't force an owner to keep a hurt player. Everyone else knew Peavy was hurt. It's the perfect time to pursue a player. Congrats to the owner who offered Ludwick.

No cheating is involved here. However i think this trade is not even because Peavy is almost ready to go and is "no longer" injured. As part of a 3 man commitee i'll have to slap a veto on it.If Ludwick continues to play everyday ,and keeps up that pace through June, then he might be worthy of a Peavy.

If you're sure that there's no cheating involved and that both managers really are trying to win, then let the boys play and approve it.

The purpose of trade review is to protect the integrity of the league, not the integrity of player worth.

I hear what your saying, however the players "worth"is everything we base even trades on.And if you let trades like that one go through, your going to open the door for other silly trades down the road.Peavy>>>>>Ludwick.IMO

The operative word being IMO.

So Peavy gets hurt. His owner is panicking. He gets an offer for an outfielder who's on fire. No one else in the league even contacts him. And you're going to quash this deal.

So now everyone in the league knows this guy wants to get rid of Peavy. And the one guy who took the time to find that out and get a deal done is the one who will miss out.

Plus, you're looking at Ludwick as an undrafted guy. Look at his stats. He's top 10 in the MLB in homers, RBI, has over 30 runs, 2 steals, and his hitting over .330. 1/4th of the way through the season, an owner should have every right to believe he's for real.

Leave your own evaluations out of it. Peavy got hurt. He's a pitcher. That's always a question mark. There's no guarantee he's back next week.
