any predictions on this guy? my fantasy team could use his .300 30 100 output with a hand full of SBs he once displayed?

Stud nor dud. Middle of the road guy. Deep right center field at Petco could affect his HR total.

I'll say .285 25 HR 90 RBI maybe 7-8 steals

While I would not call him a DUD, I read that his shoulder is still only 80%. I would draft him assuming numbers close to what Bernie Williams put up last year- .280 ave., 20 HR's, and about 80 RBI's.

I agree on the "neither stud NOR dud" comment. I don't think the Padres are completely sure whether Klesko will be entrenched in either left or right field for now, but the important thing to keep in mind is that the injured shoulder, though at 80%, is not associated with his throwing arm.

Hopefully the 20% part of the healing process doesn't hamper his swing at the plate as well.

I agree. I do think he'll have more RBI's though. That's one nice lineup he'll be in.

Fantasy Stud or Dud?

A bit of both. He is now past his prime and still has never had over 540 AB's in a season.

I agree with the others, he's decent but not spectacular, he's still got 20-30 HR power, and can steal about 10.

I've got him down for .276, 25 HR, 85 R, 95 RBI, 5 SB.

The improved Padres lineup will help him, but he's not doing .300/30 again anytime soon and he's done running.

I simply think that Ryan Klesko is overrated nowadays.. his last big year was 2001 but other than that he's more of a name brand and less of a stat producer :-P
