Postby baseballstud » Wed May 28, 2008 2:32 pm

the first place owners dice-k for the 11th place owners peavy. don't think it's any type of corruption, but i really don't think i can allow this deal to go through(or maybe that's just me wishing it wouldn't).any thoughts on this?

Not vetoable. Peavy has some serious question marks with the elbow and wins are going to be tough this year in SD. If Peavy has recurring issues and SD is out of contention, he could be shut down for a substantial amount of time. I can understand an owner wanting to deal him at this time for Dice-K based on needs.

An interesting wrinkle is the shoulder "fatigue" issue that arose last night with Dice-K. His value has to be dinged at least a little based on the uncertainty. I would still let it go through.

Peavy's on the DL. What's wrong with this deal at all?

Veto if,

The 11th place owner wasn't aware of Dice K's uncertain injury.

Or these two teams have a history of unbalanced trades.

Or the league has a history of being very veto happy.

But otherwise, I guess you have to let the horrible deal go through.
