I know this. When rumors heat up about a Rp being traded, it usually happens.
odds Huston Street is out of Oakland by the trade deadline (July 31)?
...If so, it will be "Devine"

w/ oaklnad in second place only out by a couple games i cant see oakland dealing street but theres still 2 months until the trading deadline so if oakland does start to fall then look for a trade if not i cant see oakland dealing street while in playoff contention. In the begining it was looking like santiago castilla would get the nod but mr devine has been very good of late and looks to be the closer if he is in fact dealt

Even with the team in contention, I would not at all be surprised to see Beane deal Street, install Devine as the closer, and when Casilla comes back from injury give Casilla the setup job. Or switch Devine and Casilla's roles, either way.
If there was one thing that Moneyball made clear, it's that Beane doesn't give a crap about having a "reliable" closer and believes them to be the most fungible position in baseball.

I think you guys are forgetting about Foulke If Street gets traded before the deadline I think that Foulke becomes the closer. First, he's done it before, and second he's the most likely to be flipped later. Since Beane doesn't believe in the closer position as much he uses it to his advantage. Thus he'd put Foulke into the closer position to hype him, and possibly flip him before the Aug. 31 deadline (if the 'pen has the depth).
