Is his ankle healthy? If so, what can be expected of him for this season?

I dont have projections to give you, but I would guess really late round pick/waiver wire fodder to start the season. At the most he'll have a few good consecutive outings giving good K totals, but I really dont see him helping too much in any other category. He is a streak player. Pick him up and plug him in when he is on, but dont expect to use him in your weekly line up every week.

For some reason rotochamps.com is projecting him to have a good season. I really see the opposite. Acevedo has never been consitent and I don't think he has enough dominante pitches to succeed in the Majors.

Assuming Acevedo makes the starting rotation, I see him posting 11 wins, with a 3.75 ERA, a 1.25 WHIP, and 160 Ks.

Acevedo was pretty good before he went down with an injury, wasn't he? He might be a good waiver wire pick up.

Here's a question for you guru's:
Rodrigo Lopez or Acevedo?
Who would you rather have to back up Mussina, Beckett, Milton, Wolf, Armas, and Burnett. I already have Tomko, just looking for one more SP in case of injury.

Acevedo. Lopez is probably more sure of a rotation spot, but Acevedo should be better, and he probably will make the rotation.

Thanks for the info.
the thing that caught my eye about acevedo was that though he played only a little less than 30 inings. His K to BB rate was wonderful. I think that he is probably a better pick than Rodrigo.
