Robb Nen Latest News Feb. 21, 2004 - 2:59 pm et
Robb Nen threw off a mound yesterday, and both manager Felipe Alou and trainer Stan Conte came away impressed.
"Robb had a little adrenaline flowing, but his mechanics were off a bit," Conte said. "He was throwing at about 85 percent velocity, where we want him to stay. This was a building-strength day." Nen isn't going to have his pre-surgery fastball or slider at the start of the year -- or maybe ever again -- but it is looking like he'll be healthy enough to pitch.
