As an ex-Hawpe owner, I can say only this: Good riddance! This bum was taking a DL spot away from me I could've used on somebody else, he sits vs. lefties, has posted an abysmal season v. righties, the entire rockies clubhouse is terrible this year, and worst of all, he might be platooned with Spilborghs when Holliday gets back. I feel there are plenty of better OF's than Hawpe currently sitting on the FA.

Devil's advocate but I dropped Hawpe last season around week six. Someone snapped him up and he was as hot as hell through the end of the season. Biggest mistake I made in 2007.

This year someone has again dropped Hawpe but this time it's me doing the picking up. Hawpe is a classic very slow starter who heats up with the weather.

I think he's sitting in the FA pool in 3 out of 3 leagues and two of them are pretty competitive (and I dumped him in one). I'm going to monitor him and hopefully snag him when/if he heats up.
