Anyone in a 10 man holding onto Hawpe.

Any news on him being back for week 10?

He was dropped today in my league (10 team h2h). I know he will bounce back and I would stash him if I had someone to drop. My worst player right now is Oliver Perez and I can never seem to give up on the guy. Anyway, if you have room, it looks like he will be back next week.

I just know that hawpe will start pounding soon but it is tough with only 2 reserve spots and also owning Konerko and Helton. I am thinking that Helton is not worth bothering with in a 10 man with 2 reserve spots. It is just that I want to own him when he raises that average from 270 up to over 300, that would be a nice ride.

I just picked him up in a 10 team H2H where I'm lucky enough to have six bench slots. I also, amazingly, just picked him up after he cleared waivers in my 16 team H2H - an owner dropped him to make way for another player on the DL. He's now on my DL. Last season I made the colossal blunder of dropping Hawpe after about week five and he raked the rest of the way. I'm hoping that's how things work again this year.

Because I had 6 players on the DL on my team I dropped Hawpe for Pence. He was just sitting there as a FA, will I regret this move?

If Pence was an FA, it's highly likely Hawpe will still be out there when you want to pick him back up again. And, no, picking up Pence is not a bad move.

Hawpe is on waivers currently as his C. Gonzolaz. Who should I claim with 6 waiver wire position.

I dropped Hawpe in my 10-team roto a few weeks before he hit the DL. the fact of the matter is he sits against lefties and his performance against righties has been terrible to date. maybe his DL stint has helped to correct whatever ailed him, but frankly i'm not sure he will be any better than a waiver OF in a 10-team league going forward

As an ex-Hawpe owner, I can say only this: Good riddance! This bum was taking a DL spot away from me I could've used on somebody else, he sits vs. lefties, has posted an abysmal season v. righties, the entire rockies clubhouse is terrible this year, and worst of all, he might be platooned with Spilborghs when Holliday gets back. I feel there are plenty of better OF's than Hawpe currently sitting on the FA.
