Eduardo Morlan ??

I know this is really reaching but I bought Eduardo Morlan in a deep AL only keeper draft with the hopes that the "grumpy old men" tandem of Percival and Reyes in Tampa would be ineffective and/or injury prone. I didn't think he would get much of a chance this year but I was hoping that he might enter the picture by 2009 and I would still own him for dirt cheap. However, I see he has been on AA Montgomery's injury list for quite some time now and I can't get any details as to what his problem is. Are there any diehard Tampa fans out there that can fill me in on his status?

The last that I heard about Morlan was that he had a sore shoulder. I haven't heard anything since. I'm really high on Morlan being a future closer somewhere. I thought at first that he'd be the heir for the Twins, but his move to Tampa made me ecstatic. I doubt that Morlan will be handed the closer job in 2009, but it would be a nice present if he was. Most likely he will come in as a setup man and groomed as a closer.

Morlan is dealing with what the Rays have called shoulder soreness. They have run tests and there is nothing structurally wrong, so they are hoping some time off will help

Thanks guys for the updates. Up here in the far north it's virtually impossible to get information on what's happening in most of the minor leagues.
