Player Notes

May 25 The Indians are expected to activate Westbrook to take Fausto Carmona's place in the rotation, which has an AL-best 3.21 ERA this season.

Advice: Westbrook has been out since April 22 with a strained muscle near his left ribcage. At the time Carmona was injured in Cleveland, Westbrook was pitching six scoreless innings on a rehab assignment at Double-A Akron.

He was pitching well before the ribcage injury. Is Westbrook going to be a reliable pitcher this year? All I need is for him to be a good #3 pitcher because I've got Dice-K and Volquez. Can I expect 20 starts for him this year? Maybe like a 12-6 season?

If the Indians start scoring some runs, 12-6 is a possibility. This spring and into the time he went to the DL, he was pitching the best of his career, and that's all the media could talk about during indians spring training, was how good Westbrook had looked. He added a pretty good changeup, which means you should expect better K #s than in previous seasons.

He's been a guy who wins 15 a year for a while. When he's off tho, lookout.

I have a pretty good feeling about Westbrook this season, he was completely untouchable in spring training and had 3 good starts before hitting the DL. He came back from the DL w/ a pretty nice start and I'm feeling some good numbers from him. He'd be a nice pick-up for people who've been hit by a bad case of the DL bug in the pitching department.

JWestbrook - .500 SP, Not many Ks, ERA maybe just under 4 in the post steroid era
Just traded BButler, BWood & JLoney for Mark Teixeira, Ryan Theriot & Renyel Pinto in a DYNASTY LEAGUE. Big gamble I know!
