Does it count fist pumps as well?
Yep. I grabbed Papelbon and Chamberlain. There's talk about just giving me the title now and starting a mid season league.

Personally I think the best stats to use are:
R TB RBI SB OBP for hitting and QS HLD+SV K ERA OBP for pitching.
On the hitting side OBP is obviously a better stat of a player's ability than AVG and TB accounts for players who contribute doubles and triples but not necessarily home runs.
On the pitching side, counting holds+saves as a single stat gives teams more flexibility with their roster while acknowledging the fact that setup men are also important (look at what a fuss a lot of fans are making about Joba moving out of that role). Quality starts are used instead of wins because it prevents a team from earning a bunch of "lucky" vulture wins from their relievers and makes starters team neutral, so you're more likely to take good pitchers on bad teams rather than average pitchers from the Yankees, etc. OBP is used for pitching both because pitchers should be penalized for hitting batters and because it matches up nicely with hitters OBP.
The nice thing about this setup is that it more fully covers all players statistical contributions while still keeping things nice and simple with only 10 categories.
