In '05, when he hit 43, he had another slow April but managed to put up 6 jacks. He could have hit 40 last year if he didn't get hurt and miss a ton of time. I agree on looking forward to seeing where he ends up. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for the Mets out of team bias but otherwise, Boston would be ideal. The Yanks would be nice but I doubt they'll pay up to get Tex when CC will be on the market.
The Yanks will be clearing enough in the offseason to potentially sign both CC and Teix.

The thought of CC and Tex in pinstripes makes me salivate (Yanks fan here of course).

I wouldn't ever draft Teix. Dude is basically bench material during the first half... What you want to do is trade for him during the 2nd half..

I always thought Teixeira was a bit overrated. He will still get his 30 HRs but people seem to be expecting a perennial 40+ HR hitter.

This is not a 1st half/2nd half thing. He is simply one of the streakiest power guys there is (maybe only Carlos Lee is comparable). If you own him the whole season and he does not hit the DL, he will provide 30+ HR, guaranteed. There may be months were he hits 1 and months where he hits 15, but his full season numbers will be 30-40 HR.
There are zero problems and zero to worry about. Every year this board as had several "What's wrong with Tex?" threads when he is on a cold streak and every year he gets the job done in the end.
