Ok i have a picture its a.jpg . How do i get to become a .gif , do i need to go some where to .gif files. I tried opening it Paint Shop Pro 5.01 but it won't open. It keeps saying this is not a vaild bitmap file. Could someone explain to me what i'm doing wrong.

Definitely the correct answer. Just make sure they're in the military, since civilian flight schools are very expensive.
The best way to make an avatar is to create it in MS Paint with a 100x100 box, and then you can "Save as" a jpg or gif. I'm old school, so I really like MSPaint. Plus, it's free with Windows!

Thanx i actually got to open. How do i know its 8 times 8 when i'm adjusting the size??

Go to "resize" and select pixels.

Basically the same way, just with a different program. It's been a while since I used a mac, so I don't know what the latest/greatest software program for it is. This thread should probably be moved to the General Talk forum.

Painstshop Pro can open jpegs. I don't use any gifs. Looks nice though.
