Garrett Atkins said his stiff neck felt much better. Manager Clint Hurdle said if Atkins suffered no spasms he might be available to pinch hit tonight and could return to the lineup tomorrow.

That's encouraging. You have to think they would want to avoid putting him on the DL regardless of how hurt he is. Their lineup has been terrible the last few days.

"Atkins (neck) might be able to play Tuesday, the Rocky Mountain News reports.
Spin: He felt better Monday and took ground balls before the game. It sounds like Atkins' return is imminent and he will avoid the DL."

This is more encouraging news - I would probably not plug him in until Wednesday unless without a better option, but this is a good sigh for sure ;-D

Atkins is really struggling since returning from his injury. 1-18? Has anyone watched his at-bats? With trade rumours swirling I've been starting to seriously think about moving him.

May is usually Atkins' worst month historically but he did pretty well this year. If you guys believe in the law of averages, it means he will have a atrocious month eventually. Atkins is in one of my leagues and seeing him go 0 for 5 two games in a row is pretty disappointing.
