Thanks for the help on my post! I think your team is probably a little better, they are very close though. I like his pitching a bit more, not by much. But your batters have him beat, A-Rod of course makes his team look good but you have a very balanced team. Should be close overall, but I like yours a little more.
I think it's very, very close...what might give you the edge is the young pitching...in the second half a staff including Dice-K, Myers, Volquez, MvGowan, Greinke, Danks, Scherzer, Bailey and Kershaw could be DEADLY, though it could also prove to be too young and/or too inconsistent.
Offensively, I don't even know how to differentiate...you both have one stud and a few guys who are playing way over their heads. I think, if pressed, I'd give the offensive edge to his team simply because of Hafner and Granderson. They'll start hitting, and when they do I like his lineup a bit more.
Anyway, very close and I think the pitching is what might give you the edge.
I will say that his pitching staff is the best in our whole league probably because of his top 3 or 4 being so good. I don't know if Zambrano will keep his numbers up but I expect Webb to be solid and Wang to give him a high number of wins. My staff may be deeper but I need for them to be more consistent. Myers is struggling , McGowan needs to be more consistent and Dice-K needs to walk fewer. If these things happen I can make up some ground but I don't think I can catch him in W or WHIP. My closers are better but neither are great. I just want to be in the middle or close to the top of the pack. Uggla, Ludwick, Kotchman, Matsui and Snyder have been very surprising and producing great for him. Not that I didn't think Uggla could produce but these numbers compared to previous years are unbelievable. It is safe to say his team is very hot right now and he has tied me in the standings. I know it is early and to be honest I don't want to be in first because since I have been in this league nobody has held the lead this early and won. Hafner does not bother me. I don't think he will produce like he last did in '06. A-Rod is A-Rod, I think Granderson is a little overhyped and I don't think Ordornez will have a year like he had last year. That being said I would love to have a team like this any year. I think I have lost a lot of great stats with Ortiz's early struggles but has started to do what we should expect from him. He will be great in the end. Markakis is a 2nd half stud and it looks as if Utley is stuck in a funk. DeWitt has been a great find and so has Barmes until his injury. Peralta has helped in HR but has killed me in AVG. He will sit once Barmes comes back and LaRoche will move to 1B moving Guillen to SS. LaRoche has sort of heated up lately. I am looking for the Yankees to start to put runs on the board helping me out with Damon and Matsui. Aramis has been great so far and will get better in the 2nd half hopefully. I hope I am ahead in the end but it will be close and tough.
I'll take yours although his pitching is 1 up on you. You have a good roster overall Good work. I'd see if you can trade a few of those SP for "upgrades" at the same position.
Your offense is way better than his. Other than ARod, your position players are better. He has two aces in his pitching staff in Webb and Zambrano. The other areas of the teams are pretty close.
