The first 3 don't impress me (SD/WAS/KC), but the Arizona start does. ;-D
You'd expect a decent pitcher to be killing all of the first 3 right now. Maybe that's the warm up he needed for the real stuff.

I was about to make the same remark about the quality of his opposition the previous three starts...but taking down ARI is definitely impressive.

I drafted Andrew Miller in every league to start the season. I tried holding onto him as long as possible but he just kept stinken up the joint, so I cut him loose. Now look what happens. 8-o If he keeps up this pace I'll cry.

So are we beginning to be convinced that he can overcome his streaky tendencies? Obviously no one can predict the future, but I'd hate to pick him up and see him hit a 3 game dry spell before putting anything up I can use. Is he a better pickup than Colon? (Its a Yahoo league, so there's a strong chance I can't get him anyway)

Yes... Although I need to see him do this for a few more starts before start believing.

Ehh....

I think Colon will be better. The marlins are already starting to cool off, and will revert m ot their normal crapyp selves, and Miller will be left with little run support.

There is certainly the possibility that Miller is growing into his potential. Control was and will always be his demon. I would pick him up, but I wouldn't fall in love. My fear is that should he have a couple outings with outrageuos BB numbers he could lose confidence and tumble back to the WW.

IM Buying this kid and you should too. Who cares about the line up he faced. I don't buy that argument. What I do know is that the those three teams were major league teams with good hitters on each of them. 98 mph fastball with a sinker ball......I love it. He reminds me of Randy Johnson

Ditto

Cabrera has been so solid, I just can't bring myself to drop him yet.

How about Weaver or Duchsherer? rather have Miller?

Cabrera is a proven medicority who fools people almost every year by stringing together a few decent starts - over the course of a season he will kill your WHIP. I am not high Miller and might wind up helping even less, but at least he has the potential to put a good season together.

I would hold tight on Duch or Weaver however.

I called Miller up in my dynasty before the season thinking I would need the pitching help, which it turns out I did not. So I have him on my bench right now without starting him once. I have Webb, CC, Lincecum, Marcum, Carmona and Blanton ahead of him so I don't really need him. But I might need him next year! Either that or I can trade Carmona and Blanton (neither of which K anyone) for a OF or something and get Miller in the lineup. Either way it is a nice luxury to have extra pitching!
