Smart Phones

Postby thedude » Thu May 22, 2008 5:58 pm

I need to buy a new phone (my old phone suddenly died). I am planning on buying a smart phone. I was wondering what phones people recommend. Assuming price is not an issue, what is the best phone (for AT&T)?

I was thinking of the iphone, but i am not sure i want a phone without a real keypad. Plus I have heard mixed reviews. A couple of my friends have blackberries and love them. I was thinking of maybe the AT&T Tilt.

Anything, positive or negative, what be great because i know very little about phones.

It depends on what you are planning on using the phone for.

How much web browsing, email checking, MP3 playing, calendar, etc? Most smartphones have thier strengths and weaknesses. I had a Pocket PC for what seems like forever and finally scaled back the capabilities some and got a BB Pearl and couldn't be happier.

I would like something that would let me browse websites, check my email, and text easily. I could careless about mp3 playing.

I'm not an expert when it comes to smart phones, but I do have a Samsung BlackJack II and am satisfied with its capabilities.

in my opinion, the iphone is the way to go if browsing webpages is what you want. its amazing, but if you dont care about the mp3 player, then i think its probably not worth it for the $400 price tag. i have an iphone and its pretty sweet. everything i could ever want in a phone.

I'm with ya on this one completely man - It literally fits my every need and just keeps getting better too! I haven't even had the $150 broken screen repair that you had to stomach either. You must REALLY love yours ;-)

I just got a Blackberry two weeks ago although I resist on getting one for months since I don't want to constantly check my work email. It's great.
