I think they should let him hit his cap in AAA. Low stress innings on his arm, just so they can, as you said, not have to baby him this year. I think this is the year the Yankees don't make the playoffs, and even if they can squeak in, they are a one and done, likely going into Anaheim, so they've got to protect the kid's arm. Let him get his innings in AAA and get ready for next year.

Not sure if I agree. He seems healthy so there is no reason to baby him at AAA or shut him down.

I haven't fully kept up on his health, as I don't own him in any leagues, but if there's even an inkling of a question on him being 100%, I see little reason for the Yankees to push him aside from trying to keep their consecutive playoff appearances alive, which seems more and more futile as each day passes.

I was watching the Yanks broadcast a couple of days ago and they mentioned he might be heading back to the 'pen for the remainder of the season.

That would be the dumbest thing that they can do at this point.

Putting him the bullpen and/or sending him down to AAA doesn't make a lick of sense to me.

If he goes into the bullpen he gets to pump his fist with no ramifications. It's late in the game a la KRod, so it's OK.

And I still wouldn't like it.

Joba's heading back to the bullpen. Are we going to be dealing with the same situation next year, or is he a starter for sure?

I don't think that it is a lock that he goes in the pen.

I think it is pretty much a given he is heading to the 'pen.
