On the post game interview with Kim Jones, Girardi stated that the process has "officially" started of making Joba a starter. He pitched 2 innings and was using his change-up a bit more than usual. Pretty exciting.

Thanks to GiantsFan14 for the sig

he's not going to have enough bullets left if they actually make the play offs... I don't like this
For every Brett Myers there's a Nate McLouth...

I don't like it either. There is no one who can do what he does as the bridge to Mo. The Yankees are still in it, of course, but the SP staff top to bottom is not deep enough to get them to the playoffs. They dealt themselves this hand and now think Joba is the ace up the sleeve that will turn things around?

It's not over until he's starting, struggles, and NYY resists the fan backlash to banish him back to the pen.
Time to sell high?

So you readily admit the rotation sucks but you're opposed to moving your dominant young arm to a starting role? Where's the logic in that? Joba is immensely more valuable if he can be effective as a starter. And this isn't a panic move. This has been the plan since the beginning. Even if the Yankees don't make the playoffs, this is the right move to make.
