Common name

Postby Tavish » Wed May 21, 2008 3:36 pm

I always thought of my first name and last name as both being very common. Turns out I have the 39th most popular first name and the 39th most popular last name (love the symmetry). Even with that only a handful over 1,000 other people have the same first and last name as I do in the US.

And BTW

More than 99.9 percent of people with the first name Madison are female.

Coincidentally I have the 39th most popular given name as well. :-? :-D

There are 6 people in the U.S. named <ME>
There are 1,733 people in the U.S. with the last name <ME>.
Statistically the 17073rd most popular last name

There are 15 of me in the United States. Kind of odd, considering I have the 544th most "common" first name and the 714th most common last name.

By the way - I guessed which first name is the 39th most common in two guesses after reading Tav's post. Not a bad guess. ;-)

Hmm. I also have the 39th most popular first name. :-? Should we start a club or something?

I've found 2 other guys with the exact same name via Google, but this reports only one of me. I guess less competition this way.

apparently there are zero Deions. Which will upset both Mr. Branch and Mr. Sanders, as well as my former high school classmate.
