A trade jsut went down in my league.

Team A Gets Johan Santana
Team B Gets Carlos Quentin and Tim Hudson.

Being that it is only mid May, I think Team A wins this one big time! As a owner I voted against the trade. Team B is a 2 owner team. One of the owners was not aware that the trade was going to be made. I received the following e-mail from him -

"Arrgh!!!! This is NOT a good deal for us or for the entire league. I just talked to (my co-owner) and talked some sense into him. I don’t think we can pull the trade at this point, so it might have to come from the Commish or thru a consortium of ‘no’ votes by the owners. (My Co-owner) is in for whatever can be done to nix the deal. We’re not trying to throw the towel in – see what you can do. I’d hate to crown (Team A Owner) in May…"

As the commisioner, what should I do. This is a $$$ league and we have some pretty hard headed owners.

I'm going to assume, from what you said in your post, that vetoes are handled by collecting a certain amount of votes. If that's the case, I'd tell the owner with second thoughts to either post something on the league message board (if there is one) or get in touch with everyone leaguewide. Let him explain his case and he can ask people to veto. If can muster the votes for a veto, including his own vote, then it can be vetoed. If not, he's out of luck.

One co-owner making a trade without the consent of the other owner is not a league issue, but a team issue. With no dirty dealing and a competitive league, the trade has to pass through. The only remedy I can see is having Team B talk to Team A to get him to agree to nix the trade... it may cost them a sweetener, but that's what happens when you run your team poorly.

Yeah, this is not a vetoable deal.

You can't cry to the commish to correct your partner's mistakes. If that happens, than the guy who faithfully traded for Santana gets screwed when he did nothing wrong. It should be up to him whether he reverses the deal or not.
