How do you have these minor league prospects ranked? I have one minor league spot available on my Sportsline team's roster & I have narrowed my list down to these players still available.
Please reply back with your comments on who you like & what your feelings are. I have a previous post / topic with all the minor league prospects who are already taken.
Heyward does have tremendous upside, but as of now he is only playing in A. Chris Davis is raking the baseball at the AA level and earned a promotion to the Pacific Coast League(AAA). I personally scouted Davis when he came down to Corpus with Frisco, and every time I saw him, he got on base(over the top, but he got on a lot). His best game that I have personally seen, was his two homer game against Corpus. He came up in the top of the 9th and jack his second one to the right field berm. He has tremendous power and, if developed correctly in AAA, has potential to have a .300+ avg. He could be up in the majors very soon, possibly this year if he can perform in AAA as he did in AA. And if the Rangers continue to start Frank Cattalanotto at first, then Davis has the edge over him in all offensive categories and has solid defense.
Jay Bruce is mah franchize. I love you Chris Davis!
I was searching for a mention of chris davis around here, and ive found it =p
Davis started off slow in AAA with a .700 something ops 2 weeks in. But then he clickly snapped out of that and has been mashing since, back up to .996 on the year. His 15:7 k:bb ratio is a big improvement for him too. not exactly great, but its always been his weakpoint.
if davis keeps this up for another 2 months, you have to figure the rangers will consider moving blalock back to 3b (if he ever actually gets on the field again) and let davis go ahead and get some time this year.
