I seem to always get enamored with one or two guys every year who, even if they suck or are mediocre, always seem to come through with exactly the stat you're looking for when they play. THis year I have 2 clutch guys.
For some reason Saltalmacchia with his sub-.200 average always comes through for me. He had 2 RBIs two sundays ago to win me a category at the last second. He got 3 BBs a couple days ago right when I needed them. I know its silly to be playing him (50% of the time) when Navarro is sitting there but I can't make the move!
Yunel Escobar has been my team MVP. He's filled in for not one, not two, but THREE major injuries to start the season. THe last being Figgins (before that Rollins, and Granderson). His position eligibility and excellent production all year long have basically saved my team in a deep league where finding a SS or 2B rental for a few weeks each would have been horrible. I traded Jon Lester for him in pre-season, and I dont care how good LEster does, Escobar saved my team for 2 months and I'll never regret that move!
Those are my clutch performers... who do you overvalue on your team because they just seem to come through when it counts!
I have to say Miguel Tejada is my most valuable player. Tejada is putting up a great season in spite of all his off-field issues... steroids, his age issues, etc. I selected Miguel in the 8th round he has been a steal!

Ryan Theriot... filled in nicely for both of my injured (at the time) JRoll and Brian Roberts/Howie Kendrick. Now he's my "Mr. Utility" - great average, scores a lot of runs, and gets some timely steals
Kobe Bryant, just because he's led my Lakers while deferring as a team player, which has to be some kind of twisted fantasy in and of itself, but who am I to complain.
