Worth noting that all three doubles were well hit to the mid-to-opposite field and fell into space, no near catches. This is just fine for BA and RBI counts but will do nothing for his dearth of homers. I watch Twins games and Delmon has only pulled one hit in the past week or so, IIRC. That hit fell about ten to twenty feet short of the fence for an out. He's unlikely to hit an opposite field HR.
In a situation where there are runners on, Young is going to focus on getting the runners home and ignore HRs. It is the Twins way.
