I am in a Sportsline Head-to-Head Fantasy Baseball league - which consists of mostly major league players, but each team, gets to have 3 Minor Leaguers spots on each team's roster.
My 3 Minor Leaguers consists of the following players:
Clayton Kershaw, SP, Dodgers Adam Miller, SP, Indians David Price, SP, Rays
Now one of the other teams in my league offered me a trade proposal:
He offered me Mark Texierra for Delmon Young & David Price.
I am thinking about this trade offer, because there are other minor league players that are still available, that I have heard great things about.
So I have a few questions:
How do you feel about David Price and how good do you think he will be a a Major league pitcher?
Other minor leaguers that I have heard good things about are the following:
What do you guys feel about these 3 players and what have you heard about these 2 guys? How do you think these 2 guys compare to David Price? Would you suggest adding any of these guys to my minor league roster and have me drop Adam Miller?
Please advise with all your thoughts and baseball knowledge.
IMO, hitters are always more valuable than pitchers. pitchers are a dime a dozen, but great hitters are hard to find. with that being said i would def. take that deal. teix. is a great hitter who always has cold starts then blows up the second half, not to mention he is a FA this year so he could go to a big team like the yankees. d. young is also young and has not reached his potential yet. david price is most likely going to be a great pitcher, but he is just coming off an injury and there is zero chance that he will be up in the majors this year. the rays have so many top pitching prospects it's not even funny, and as good as price is he is not on the top of the list of being the most ready.
if i were you, i would take the deal and pick up wade davis. davis is going to be up much sooner than price and since you already have the infamous clayton kershaw you are in great shape. hard to tell what you need without seeing your full roster...but i would take that deal.
People place a high value on prospects for some reason, and I think that I would take the Tex deal. I'm not sure if I'd grab any of those 3 guys as a replacement though. Davis has great stuff, but he's had a rough start to the season. Who else is available?

Who would be some minor league prospects that you would suggest taking or picking up if possible that are not included in the following list:
Clayton Kershaw Adam Miller David Price Homer Bailey Chase Headley Christopher Marrero Fernando Martinez Tommy Hansen Humberto Sanchez Carlos Gonzalez Nick Adenhart Jarrod Parker Jay Bruce Matt LaPorta Colby Rasmus Jake McGee Matt Wieters Andrew McCutchen Rick Porcello Nolan Reimold Jeff Niemann Mark Rogers Gio Gonzalez Greg Reynolds Ricky Romero Michael Moustakas Travis Snyder Jeff Clement Brandon Wood Justin Masterson
If you need an OF, someone like Desmond Jennings although his ETA is 2010. He will be similar to Crawford but has time to develop. At SP, someone that is really going under the radar is Trevor Cahill. He is moving up the top prospects list very fast. He has a K/BB of 62/12. 3B Andy LaRoche is someone not on that list, he is one of the better 3B prospects. He was hurt there but it was nothing major. Blake DeWitt will come down to earth I think and LaRoche will be starting sometime this year. Thats all I can think of now.
D Jennings is a good option. Also, Casey Weathers is looking like a solid pitching prospect in Colorado. He could easily be considered the closer in Colorado in the next year or two.
I'm not seeing Cameron Maybin on that list. Is he available too? Reid Brignac could also be an option for SS, but his value has been slipping the past season.
Chase Headley is close to being called up to San Diego, and he has been ripping the cover off the ball lately in AAA. If you want someone that you can promote soon, then he would be your best option.
