Anyone know anything about this guy?? I have been keeping tabs on him since last year when he posted some respectable numbers/ 6-6 in 21 starts/4.45 ERA/99 hits in 115.1 IP/86 SO. So far this year he has struck out 21 in 19 IP with 4BB. Two bad starts at the beginning of the year led to a 7.45 ERA and trip back to AAA. He is back though and pitched a gem against the Mets(7IP/3H/0ER/2BB/9K).
Anyone know anything about this guy, seems like he may be a possible #4 or #5 SP in my 16 team league.
He's a great pick for a 16 team league. He has had injury concerns throughout his career, but he has also always had an excellent K:BB. Very good LIMA pick, too.
Not a big fan. He usually pitches okay with the occasional blowup, but the net effect of all of that is not good. And he also plays on such a bad team, that he likely won't get a cheap win if he pitches mediocre.
Tell you what, my opinion has kinda changed on him - he has looked phenomenal since being recalled (against 2 pretty good offenses). I took another look at his numbers from last year, good WHIP, decent K's ... I picked him up today in my NL only league
