Trade accepted - possible injury issue. Urgent!

Postby mak1277 » Mon May 19, 2008 7:48 am

Ok, here's the scenario.

Team A offers Team B a trade that includes Jake Peavy.

Roughly a week goes by, and the news comes out about Peavy missing his next start for injury. Team A was out of town and away from the computer over the weekend.

Team B accepts the trade at 11pm last night, but naturally Team A wants out because of the potential injury concerns.

Normally, I take a pretty hard line on this stuff, and say that Team A should be stuck with the deal...but in this case it seems pretty obvious that Team A would have pulled the offer back had he been able to.

Thoughts are appreciated

Well, this is why you don't leave trade offers hanging out there indefinitely.

That said, I don't see how anyone is harmed by undoing the trade and asking Team A if he still wants to do the deal. Really, by upholding it, you're just rewarding some joker who is trying to ship damaged goods. I don't see any great principle being protected by defending him.
0-3 to 4-3. Worst choke in the history of baseball. Enough said.

I disagree

There definitely has to be some sort of injury clause with all trade agreements

Pull it back. This is HIS deal, if it was under his control then he wouldve pulled it. Vacations are time spent with family/friends and having fun, fantasy sometimes isnt included in the mix ( at least fantasy baseball :-D ) either way, I say pull it back because this guy deserves to have a say so in this EVEN IF he isnt around a CPU>
