Don't kid yourself.

Not when it involves a pitcher and an elbow injury. Elbow injuries scare me to death.

Howard is also heating up big time.

As a Howard owner I would definitely not trade him for Peavy right now.

And I'm sure someone who had Peavy...
4 wins (37th in MLB starters), 2.91 ERA (16th), 1.16 WHIP (21st), 60K's (6th)

wouldn't trade him for Howard...
.195 (179th in MLB hitters), 31 Runs (29th), 12 HRs (5th), 29 RBIs (29th), 0 SB's (tied for last)

Even now that Howard is, "heating up big time" he's still only 17-for-75 (.227 AVG) in May or 8-for-30 (.267 AVG) in the last week. It's just that 5 of those hits this week and 7 on the month are HRs (and that's with his 3-for-5, 2HR night last night). But he has a long road to climb, especially given that 69 times, or 40% of his total ABs, have ended in a strikeout.
0-3 to 4-3. Worst choke in the history of baseball. Enough said.

From Yahoo Sports:

"May 24 RHP Jake Peavy's throwing session had to be called off because he had discomfort during stress tests. Peavy is to have an MRI on Tuesday."

I have no other source or more details.

The MRI is to check on progress, if any, he didn't re-injure throwing.

Jake Peavy will undergo a follow-up MRI Tuesday and could begin a throwing program the next day.
"It's still tender," Peavy said. "Everybody wants to get back out there, but you have to listen to your body." Manager Bud Black said if Peavy can't get going this week, he'll likely require a minor league rehab assignment before returning. May. 25 - 9:39 am et
